Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our in-house design team. We are looking for an experienced conceptual furniture designer who will work as a integral part of our design team across a variety of projects. Key attributes for this role include, researching trends, creative conceptual & technical development across all categories to include Cabinet & Upholstery. Developing ranges through a variety of marketing channels from high street, Independents to International including contract projects. Working alongside our inhouse technical department, developing collections for manufacturing within our UK factory and with our external partners globally. Creative talent with, excellent communication skills, a commercial understanding of the market requirements and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities / Main Duties

  • Work closely with Creative Director to research and develop trends in line with product & brand strategy. International travel required to exhibitions.
  • Develop concept designs driven by product briefing across a multitude of channels
  • Producing Concept presentations for external clients
  • Project manage development of product range with inhouse & external technical teams from working prototypes to final manufacturing, ensuring projects are successfully developed for final production.
  • International travel required to external manufacturing sites.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the Creative Furniture Designer role is likely to be experienced, highly creative with a degree in Furniture design.  They will possess excellent communication skills, a commercial designer with a working understanding of the retail environment. They will have extensive experience using 3D applications including Solidworks and will be comfortable working with adobe Creative Suite 6, particularly InDesign and Photoshop. A flexible approach to working across a variety of projects and products within a busy design office.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our in-house design team. We are looking for a furniture design engineer who will work closely with the design team across a variety of projects. This will include sourcing & researching materials and developing collections for manufacturing within our UK factory and with our external partners globally.

Key Responsibilities / Main Duties:

Product Development

  • Work closely with Concept Designer to produce detailed technical and component drawings taking projects from concept design through to working prototypes and final manufacturing
  • Liaise with the prototyping department to get full scale prototypes developed in line with manufacturing and design requirements.
  • Work closely with internal and external manufacturing teams to ensure projects are successfully developed to final production.
  • International travel to external manufacturing sites.

Store Layouts/Exhibitions

  • Work from a creative brief to produce exhibition / store layouts, to include 2d plan and 3d visual representation.
  • Manage library of documentation for the Sales team to communicate visual brand presentation through retail channels.

 The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the Furniture Design Engineer role is likely to be a furniture design graduate, with some hands on experience either within furniture design, or within space layout roles. They will have solid experience within adobe Creative Suite 6, particularly InDesign and Photoshop, and will be comfortable using 3D applications including Solidworks.
