Designed by Lucian R Ercolani, 1956 Since the beginning of time, designers and craftsmen have experienced a profound, oftentimes intuitive connection to wood as a building material. Lucian Ercolani echoed this affinity in 1956 with the construction of the CHAIRMAKERS CHAIR, a stirring ode to the historic profession of chairmaking, suffused with thoughtful, crafted details and raw materiality. A paradigmatic example of classic Windsor craftsmanship, the CHAIRMAKERS CHAIR features a traditional spindle backrest with eight, finely-tuned spindles, curved to accommodate the body’s natural contours and provide a supportive, comfortable seat.
